[RE]Why so proud?

I was just randomly looking at people's post over on google reader, and Chris's quote really caught my attention.

No one chooses his or her country of birth, so it's foolish to be proud of it.

This is really true, indeed. This even happens over in Hong Kong...People separates Mainland China and says it's "different" than Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. People that lives and born in the three places that I mentioned usually think they are not part of the China. I just have no clue about really? What's the different? What makes you special just because you live in Hong Kong or other places. You still live like everyone else does.

As the quote says, you won't know your ethnicity until you born. It makes you no different than any others no matter where do you born, and what kind of person you are. Every country has its own suffer and issues that you might not even know. People might get influecned by their surrounding and they get used to their area. When they travel around and see that there are places in the world that's not fimilar to their own place, they might start to think "Ew... this place is nasty, old and boring" At this moment they're already kind of proud of themselves and looked like a fool because they live in a better place. However in the down side, I might call it lucky because you get to live well in certain area but that doesn't mean you should be judging stuff that isn't even your business. These people that you don't know could possibly doing way more stuff than you do to try to live. In this situation, If they get to have your life, they will be way more successful than you do, now. Different places in this earth are trying to catch up to great cities or countries. What if someday, someone treat you like you're outdated because you're not up to date of all those news and technologies stuff? That'll be interesting.
