Wii hack- interactive whiteboard

There is a website call TED. The name of the website comes from these three words, technology, entertainment, and design. This website is really cool because it gets a lot of videos that record people’s talk. I think these talk can spread out ideas from the thinking of the people. Mr. Sutherland showed us a video that’s from Johnny Lee. Johnny Lee is a Human-computer interaction researcher. He invented a low cost interactive whiteboard by using a special LED pen and the Wiiremote. The way that it works is to have the software downloaded and neither create an infrared pen or buy one. Then we can let the computer and the Wiiremote to be connected first by using blue tooth. After that, we can open up the software and starts have fun with the interactive white board.

I still remember that me and another student tried to do this low cost interactive white board last year. Mr. Sutherland was teaching us English too, he showed us the same video. That time, me and my friend think Johnny Lee's idea is totally awesome and we did some research through forum and website. That was a nice experience because we tried hard on the project. We went to radio shack to buy the materials that we need for the infrared pen, which are the LED, the on/off button, and the battery holder with wire to connect the LED. Because of buying wire is expensive and if we buy wire, we need to buy one roll and it's way too much then we need, we asked Dr. dauber to give us a little of the wire that he use for class. Then we start to make the pen. I brought my lab top computer to school and have the software prepared, and connected to blue tooth, the Wiiremote can detected the LED pen, but the only problem is the infrared pen doesn't works. Because of that, we start to forget the whiteboard thing and haven't finish it. I hope if we are going to have the interactive whiteboard works in this year, it will be awesome.
